Two Simple Rules
What are your best healthy eating habits?
There are two ways to guarantee an overall healthy diet.
The first is to prepare as much as you can from scratch. I don’t just mean cutting up your vegetables, you also need to prepare your sauces from scratch. Shop bought sauces are full of salt and sugar and generally incredibly unhealthy. So make up a curry sauce with spices and soup or yoghurt. Make up a bolognese sauce with tomatoes and herbs. It takes very little time and the flavour is fantastic once you get it right. We haven’t used shop bought sauces in probably 25 years and I would never go back.
The second is to cut your sugar intake by looking at the cake, bun or dessert recipes you use and simply cutting the suggested amount of sugar by half. If it tells you to use 6 ounces use 3 ounces. After a couple of weeks you get used to it and you won’t go back I promise you. The effect is similar to the sauces in that as soon as you get used to it shop bought cakes and desserts taste far too sweet and you are very likely to stop buying them.
As well as being healthier my two suggestions are cheaper so it’s a win win. So why not give them a go?

It takes a couple of weeks to adjust your taste buds but it’s definitely worth it.
